winter in dinky town
a slice of midnight dew
drips upon light skin
and melts into a sea of mist
azure haze and bluish tint
spans the horizon
and culls peaceful
tempers flare
at times unraveling
hearts of artichoke
peals to the floor
flesh scrapes with spoon
delicate petals
into a dish
given into love
time and patterns
light bursting into colors
shine through moments
it seems familiar again
but vividly different
like memories returning
swirl the pool
covered eyes
glints of humor
sharing space
across distances
the air hot and thick
condenses upon windows
and breath
